Another sunny away day for the Dollies saw Mark Fell’s Team turn up to take all three points at Workington this bank holiday Monday.
A game that meant little in terms of league table necessity for Lancaster resulted in a performance that saw pre match team changes and all three substitutes used at Borough Park.
It was Brad Carsley who grabbed the headlines and some would say he was unlucky not to take home the match ball after going one on one with the Workington keeper three times, twice finding the back of the net.
City’s performance was generally positive and the introduction of Sam Bailey towards the end was another key point of positivity in our turnaround season.
Workington offered little in terms of comeback to Lancaster as both goals were slightly out of the blue, but as the game came to a conclusion the Dollies were dominant in their attacking play.
Good work from substitute Paul Jarvis with support from Paul Dugdale saw both put balls into the Workington box on numerous occasions, along with fellow sub Paul Dawson.
In the end it was a routine win and Carsley showed his goal scoring threat as defensive errors were punished with venom.
Lancaster City Substitutes: Paul Dawson for Charlie Bailey; Paul Jarvis for Matt Blinkhorn; Sam Bailey for Brad Carsley.
Pundits Man of the Match: Brad Carsley
