MATCH PREVIEW: Hyde United vs City

After a week’s break, the Dollies return with an away clash against Hyde United. Coming off the back of a stunning win over Farsley Celtic, the Blues will be looking to take that momentum over to Ewan Fields this Saturday afternoon.

Season Summary
Hyde currently sit in 10th place in the Evo-Stik Premier League table. One point below Witton Albion in 9th place and three points above Whitby Town in 11th place. One of the more unpredictable teams in the league, Hyde have played 34 league matches this season, winning 14, drawing 7 and losing 13. The Blue’s will be hoping to catch Hyde on a bad day this Saturday.

Recent Form
Hyde have had a mixed run of form recently, not being able to get a run of winning form going in recent weeks. Yet they have not drawn a league match since New Years Day.

Hyde’s previous three league fixtures:

9/3/19 – Hyde United vs Farsley Celtic – 1-2

2/3/19 – Workington vs Hyde United – 1-2

26/2/19 – Hednesford Town vs Hyde United – 1-0

One to Watch – Tom Pratt
Hyde’s danger man Tom Pratt has racked up some impressive numbers this season, with 8 goals and 12 assists to his name. Tom was one of the standout players of last season and United’s top scorer. Signed from Trafford at the start of 2017/18 season he has had spells at Mossley, Bury and Ashton. According to Hyde’s website, Tom gives 100% in everything he does, which was evident in the way he returned for the final 3 games of last season, after being out for several weeks with a broken bone in his foot. Scoring twice in the last game of the season.

Previous Meeting
The last time City played Hyde was back in November when the Blues sealed a 2-1 victory over United. The visitors took the lead in the first half with a strong headed goal from Connor Simpson. In the second half, the Blues were awarded a penalty which was put away with ease by Rob Wilson to draw City level.

Later on, the United defence lost possession in a dangerous area, the ball was pounced on by Wilson who then sublimely placed the ball in the back of the United net to complete the City comeback.
