‘Let’s do it again!!’ Mark Fell’s call for ‘tremendous’ City support

The Dolly Blues have a lot to celebrate this week, not only a big win against Guiseley in the FA Trophy, but also a significant rise from rock bottom of the league up five places to 16th, after new manager Mark Fell took over as manager.

In the two months that Fell has been in charge, Lancaster have turned their disappointing league form around from the start of the season, winning five, drawing two and losing three.

Lancaster have also performed well in the Cup too.

Tuesday’s win saw the Dollies beat Guiseley 2-1 to secure their place in the FA Trophy First Round Proper.

Lancaster fell behind after just nine minutes when Guiseley’s Kaine Felix broke free and crossed for Rowan Liburd to score at the second attempt.

But the Dollies equalised in the 21st minute with a Matthew Blinkhorn header into the top corner.

The winning goal came in the 71st minute when Guiseley failed to clear their lines and Steve Williams scored a tap-in after the ball was rebounded from the home sides goalkeeper.

The next Cup tie will be at home to Blyth Spartans on Saturday.

The manager is hoping this win against Guiseley will help push the team to more success.

“It was a massive win for us on Tuesday, we want to carry that momentum into this weekend.”

Fell has also made a plea to the Blues’ fans to come and show their support for the team: “The support recently has been absolutely tremendous, we need that vocal support again on Saturday to help the lads get over the line and into the draw for the next round on Monday.”
