These boots are made for walking…

Lancaster City Football Club in partnership with The Giant Axe Community Trust are looking to launch a weekly Walking Football session in Lancaster starting in August. Register your interest if you’d like to get involved.

If you’ve ever considered Walking Football, now is the time to try it. Walking Football has hugely increased in popularity over the past few years, and it’s a great way to socialise and keep fit in your later years.

Walking Football is cheap, easy to get the hang of, and great fun. It’s a great boredom-buster during retirement, and it can even help you to connect with your children and grandchildren over a shared passion.

If you’re retired, semi-retired, or even approaching retirement age working flexible hours and would like to be involved, we’d love to hear from you.

The details are as follows:

• £3 per session (first session free)
• Age 50+
• Open to Men and Women
Wednesday 5pm to 6pm (First session 21st August at the University of Cumbria, Bowerham Rd, Lancaster LA1 3JD

Dependent on interest, we can potentially look to enter a team into a local league

If you’re interested, please e-mail your details to to register your interest.

We will then confirm further details and starting dates.
