Lancaster City are delighted to kick off the summer with the signing of prolific striker Jason Walker.
The former Dundee, Luton, York, Östersunds, Barrow and Chorley hitman brings bags of experience and an excellent goalscoring record.
City boss Mark Fell says Walker was the obvious choice to bolster their front line, “we’re a good fit for Jason, we created a lot of chances last season and the more we can compliment our forward line to convert those chances the better. We’ve a fantastic stable of strikers who all offer something a little bit different and Jason will fit well into the group. I spoke to him at length and was impressed with his outlook on the game, he’s clearly still got a real desire to succeed that’s important, he’s a naturally fit lad who looks after himself so he’ll hopefully hit the ground running in pre-season.”
Walker’s outstanding career includes several promotions and a goal in the FA cup 3rd round against then Premier League side Middlesbrough at the Riverside when in Barrow colours. He’s also represented England as a C international, the non-league National side and Walker is looking forward to getting started in Dolly Blue “I’m really excited to get started at Lancaster, I’ve met with the manager a couple times over the last few weeks and was really impressed with his vision for the club and where he wants to take them. I share the same views and want to succeed and our aim is to be challenging at the top end of the table. I was impressed with how they played against us last season and want to be part of a footballing team that creates chances. I’m looking forward to meeting my new teammates, getting started and hitting the ground running.“
Jason Walker will meet up with his new teammates when the Dollies begin preseason late next month.
