Pre-Season Matchday 1 Review

It was a night of mixed fortunes as preseason kicked off with split friendlies at West Lancs League sides Slyne and Turton.

Graham Lancashire took 5 of the recognised 1st team names along with trialists and some of the clubs young players to Turton where a 0-0 draw was played out.

40 miles North, Mark Fell took a slightly more experienced looking side to Slyne and they got off to the perfect start, Charlie Bailey heading home after 27 seconds. But sadly the match was abandoned after 20 minutes when young City goalkeeper Max Povey was involved in a collision with former Dolly Blue Zach Clark, the resulting injury – a suspected broken leg, meant a lengthy wait for an ambulance and ultimately the decision was taken to abandon the match. We wish Max a speedy recovery.

The Dollies are heading to Squires Gate on Saturday for a 3pm KO, whilst a team will also go to Wyre Villa.
