Next up to feature on our ‘Opposition in Focus’ feature is Witton Albion.
The Northwich based club finished in a comfortable 9th place, which is two places lower than where they finished in the 2017/18 campaign.
Carl Macauley’s men picked up 58 points in total, 12 points lower than what they accumulated the season before. They will be looking to take a step forward in the upcoming campaign and work their way back up the table.
To do that, they will need to improve on their goal scoring ability, with the team scoring just 45 goals, the lowest number of goals scored in the top 10.
However, they do boast a solid defensive record, conceding just 41 goals and so finishing with a positive goal difference of +4.
Unfortunately, the Albion have been dealt a blow to their defensive ranks, with goalkeeper Greg Hall joining league rivals Nantwich Town. The manager instantly put a list together to find his replacement.
The club is also out on the hunt for a new full-back, with former captain Anthony Gardener unlikely to return to the club.
Witton have added to their defensive ranks as well, with the signing of former loanee Liam Goulding.
The Dolly Blues face off against Witton Albion on October 1st at Wincham Park at 7.45pm.
