Non-League Day returns to Lancaster

This Saturday marks the return of Non-League Day, which enters its fifth year of celebrating grassroots football all around the country.

Non-League Day allows teams outside the Football League to have their time in the spotlight that they deserve.

Non-League football brings a sense of community with it that can’t be found in professional leagues. Walking into the Giant Axe gives you that warm feeling you get when you step into the front door of your home.

Everyone at the club makes you feel welcome as soon as you get there. You could walk into the ground and end up having a chat with the chairman or manager Mark Fell before the game.

The spirit and togetherness that non-league football has to offer is something that fans of bigger clubs are desperate to have.

The event takes place during an international weekend so that there is no clash with Premier League and Football League fixtures.

There’s no excuse not to come down and explore what Lancaster City Football Club has to offer!

The Dolly Blues will be opening a sweet shop for all ages as well as gathering mascots for the game with Ashton United and allowing the younger supporters to go on the pitch following the game.

We hope to see you down at Giant Axe, whether that be having a few drinks with friends whilst watching the game or taking in the fine tunes our tannoy blasts out it is safe to say it will be a fun day for everyone!

Non-league day is entering it’s tenth year and has been raising awareness for Prostate Cancer UK.
