Lancaster City return to the road as they head over the Pennines to take on Gainsbrough Trinity in the BetVictor Northern Premier Division.
Gainsborough find themselves sitting 14th in the league heading into Saturday’s game on the back of a loss to Matlock Town
The Trinity finished 6th in the Northern Premier League last season just missing out on a play off spot to Buxton by just a point.
Their recent league form has been somewhat mediocre having lost 2-1 away from home to Matlock but gaining a draw against play off chasing Warrington Town. Before that they won 2-0 against Whitby and lost once again on the opening day of the season to Nantwich.
Gainsborough’s Last Three Fixtures
26/08/19 – Matlock 2 – Trinity 1
24/08/19 – Trinity 0 – Warrington 0
20/08/19 – Trinity 2 – Whitby 0
One to watch
The one to watch for the Holy Blues is striker Elliot Wilson, who caught the eye of many in the league last season and has an eye for goal. He gained valuable first team experience and was released by Championship club Barnsley as a sixteen-year-old.
