Season Summary
Atherton find themselves 18th in the league heading into this Monday’s game after a draw and a loss in their opening two games of the new campaign.

Recent Form
The Colls were the champions of the Evo-Stick Division One West last season. Atherton gained their first victory of the new season on Saturday against Runcorn Linnets in the FA Cup. However, they come to Lancaster in search of their first league victory, after an opening day draw away at Ashton United and then a home loss against Warrington Town. Atherton are hitting the back of the net enough with six goals in their opening three fixtures but haven’t been able to keep the ball out at the other end.

One To Watch
The one to watch for the leagues new boy’s is popular and long serving wide man Gareth Peet. Peet has already grabbed two goals so far this season, including a last gasp winner in Saturdays FA Cup victory. Gareth has hit the ground running so far this season and is especially noted for his deadliness from dead ball situations.

Transfer Business
Atherton moved to sign 20-year-old midfielder Jack Egan on a free transfer after a successful trial with the club, Egan is a former Carlisle United product. The Colls also brought in young exciting winger Toyeeb Mustapha, after a good trial with the club, from Irish side Athlone Town.

Former Blackburn youth product Brad Lynch was also signed from Colne FC where he netted 17 times last season, the young striker will look to make his mark on the league.

And finally, Chester FC goalkeeper Theo Roberts was brought in on a 28-day loan, he spent last season on loan at Buxton FC helping them to a 5th place finish.
