Lancaster City can confirm the departure of Tom Kilifin who has agreed to sign for North West Counties Premier League club Northwich Victoria.
Despite initially agreeing terms to return to the Dollies in pre-season, Tom had a change of heart following an approach from the Cheshire club.
The striker made 241 appearances for the Dollies scoring 68 goals and City boss Mark Fell says although he is surprised by the decision, he leaves on good terms.
“I spoke to Tom at the end of the season and we agreed he’d be back at the Giant Axe in the summer, but I understand that players get offers and following this particular offer Tom feels it’s the best choice for him to drop down a couple of leagues to get his goalscoring back to where he wants it to be. I wish him all the best, he’s a great lad and always gave his all for me and the lads.”
Tom joins Ryan Winder who made his loan move to Northwich permanent at the end of last season.
